Resources to help you spend time with God
Here’s a range of resources to help you spend time with God. If there’s something else you find helpful, let us know and we’ll add it for others. The diocese has produced a list of some suggested resources here: http://www.dioceseofcoventry.org/images/document_library/UDR03163.pdf
Daily Readings and Prayers
Follow the #LiveLent readings from the Church of England. Sign up for daily emails (or download an app) free at www.churchofengland.org/our-faith/living-out-our-faith/lent-holy-week-and-easter/livelent-care-gods-creation or follow these readings on our Whatsapp Group. Or open the Church of England skill, then ask your smart speaker ‘Ask the Church of England for…today’s Live Lent reflection.’ These reading have an application idea for families.
If you like to pray using a Church of England Service, you can find Morning prayer, Prayer During the Day, Evening Prayer and Night Prayer for each day by visiting the daily prayer page on the Church of England website: https://www.churchofengland.org/prayer-and-worship/join-us-service-daily-prayer or download the Time to Pray app on your phone or tablet.
The website ‘Pray as you go’ provides daily devotional readings and prayers to listen to, at pray-as-you-go.org, or via the Pray as you go app. They have launched a new series of weekly devotions called ‘Pray as you stay’.
You can listen to, or read, a brief Prayer for Today from the Church of England at churchofengland.org/prayer-and-worship/join-us-service-daily-prayer/todays-prayer
There are short forms of Morning and Night prayer for each day, which you can use together at home. Click here to download a copy. Or let us know if you want us to put a paper copy through your door. We hope to live stream morning prayer and night prayer at least once a week, if possible. Watch this space.
